Rennogy Solar Panel Which Wire Is Negative

We re not going to mess with this wire at all.

Rennogy solar panel which wire is negative. My knowledge of solar panels you could fit in a thimble and still have room so please be as descriptive as possible. Only your volt meter will tell you the truth. I own two different kinds of solar panels from renogy. Connecting several panels is done with an mc4 y branch and i use the like this one by powmr.

The right solar panel is connected with one cable to the left panel. Make sure that the locking tabs snap in for a firm connection. I had the general idea of where i wanted the solar panels to sit on top of my van but without dry fitting them first i would have overlooked how the mounting holes actually lined up on the contoured roof. This wire has both a positive and a negative.

Any and all help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Parallel means combining all the positives separate from the negative wires. The two current values that are reported on the solar panel label specs are isc and imp. In the conjunction box the left panel and the right panel are connected in parallel.

I do have the controller box with my panels and was told by renogy tech that i would need a 10amp in line fuse for this application. It goes into the conjunction box. Two renogy 100 watt suitcases. The numbers on the multimeter screen should be in the 10 range of the numbers on your spec sheet.

If the numbers do not read in this range your panel might need replacing call renogy tech support to confirm at 1 800 330 8678 for the short circuit current test our panels are rated for 1000 watts per square meters. Isc refers to short circuit current which is the current value if the positive and negative solar panel wires come into contact with no resistance. Series means plugging a positive into a negative on the second panel etc. The negative wire of the solar panel is terminated with a mc4 male connector marked. Connect this cable to the mc4 female adaptor. Pictures would be a big plus.
